Analysis for multiple-locations: how to prepare your input file
Physical climate risk is unique to each geolocation.
For a single facility (property, asset, or location), the analysis is straightforward: you can simply select or enter the location directly on the platform.
To screen a group of locations, you need to upload a file.
Please download an example file with geolocations here

Please organise your locations according to the following guidelines.
File structure
• Each row represents one facility (property, factory, or asset).
• Three mandatory columns: id, latitude (lat), longitude (lon). With/without capital letters: does not matter.
• Additional columns (e.g. address, facility name) are allowed, but not used for the analysis. We just include them "as is" on the hoover text in dynamic HTML maps.
• The id column must contain unique identifiers for each facility. Uniqueness is essential.
• Strings in the id column must be short (< 15 symbols) and human-readable.
Geolocation data requirements
• Latitude and longitude must be negative in the Western and Southern hemispheres
• Latitude range : -90 / +90
• Longitude range : -180 / +180
• Units: decimal degrees, numeric only, without symbols, except for a dot (.) and a minus (-)
• Precision: at least three decimal places (e.g. -12.345)
• Decimal separator: dot.
File format
• Accepted formats: XLS, XLSX, or CSV.
• If the file contains multiple sheets, only the first one will be processed.
Notes
• Any symbols other than a dot (.) and a standard minus (-) are ignored.
• If you use ChatGPT to convert addresses into latitude/longitude, please note that it may generate files where the “minus” sign is not a standard minus character. Just try to make some operation in Excel, you will see.
• All locations must be inland.
• Offshore risk assessment is available on demand, as climate risks differ significantly between inland and offshore environments.
What if you only have postal addresses?
WTN offers an additional service to convert postal addresses into GPS coordinates.
Please contact us at contact@weathertrade.net or call +44 75 37 12 15 17
WTN does not bear any responsibility for incorrect input files or inaccurate location data.
If a correct postal address is provided as additional informatioon but the geocoordinates in the file are incorrect, only the geocoordinates will be used as the reference for the analysis. The additional postal address information is displayed on the map (for the corresponding location) for information purposes only so that you can catch your mistake yourself. The additional postal address information is not used in the risk analysis, regardless of its content, spelling, language.
